Every wondered how to convert to PDF?  Yeah? Yeah! Let me explain. You have to write or create your document in MS Word or any other PC/Mac word processor programs and then you use a software program that will convert that document into a PDF for you. It’s really simple. Or is it? The programs are usually already downloaded and will show up in your word processing program when you click the file menu >>File  and then choose print function >>Print >>.

There are two major programs competing for your business that will allow to you convert to PDF:

Adobe Acrobat vs. Instant PDF Generator.

Which one is better? You decide.

One very common and widely used PDF converter is Adobe Acrobat and there’s a reason why. Adobeadobe acrobat Inc. is a multi-million dollar company. They are the  leaders in the industry when it comes to reliability and security.  The program comes filled with all sorts of engagements to protect and deliver stunning PDF documents. The possibilities are almost limitless when and if you own this software and want to convert a file to PDF. You can add embedded videos, audio, snapshots of webpages and/or all sorts of other media to your PDF’s with this software. This is high tech stuff.

They have an online trial that you can use for free to create 5 PDF’s.  However, the full program will snatch between $200-$450 from your pockets. Ouch! Not quite sure if this program was priced with the folks who work from home in mind.

If you insist on the best and have the money to spend, then Acrobat 9 Pro is definitely how to convert to PDF. If you want to try it out first, click the preceeding link, hit downloads on the top of the page and give it a free try. I got my 5 free PDF’s. I personally am not ready for this software. It’s way above my head. Click here to covert your docs to PDF with Acrobat 9 Pro five times FREE!

instant-pdf-generatorThe alternative to convert files to PDF is “Instant PDF Generator.” This software was produced by the team at Generator Software and creates PDF files compatible with Adobe Acrobat and other third party PDF tools.  The major difference between this product and many of it’s competitors is it’s reasonable price and ease of use. $99 to be exact.

Of course, the price is the first item that jumped out at me primarily because many other alternatives (especially Adobe Acrobat) can hurt your pockets when your just starting out.  At $99 this PDF converter, however, is much more reasonable and yet produces the exact same outcome. It’s very simple to use and this software makes it extremely easy to start using without having to know any other skill sets other than sending something to print.

Once you install it, it uses a 4-step process similar to how you would print a regular document.  Also, the “email function” is extremely handy, if you are looking to email someone a PDF document that you are working from.  You don’t even have to log in to your email client and you can do it straight from the software application.

Since Instant PDF Generator uses the print functionality to convert word documents to PDF documents,  it’s crucial that it be compatible with many other desktop applications.  With that said, last time I checked, Instant PDF Generator also came with lifetime updates . So you are assured to have the latest version available to you when you purchase and be regularly updated. A plus in my book.

When you add all these features along with the full-time support staff that Generator Software have made available for you, IMHO, Instant PDF Generator becomes an incredibly cost effective alternative to purchasing Adobe Acrobat. Click here to convert to PDF format forever for $99

I’ve given you two options to help you convert your docs to PDF quickly and easily. I’ve also given you the prices and the features of two top-notch PDF software programs. Which PDF software would you choose to convert your docs?
