{RANT}Avoid making the mistakes I made in the past by using the information given to you. You see for four years I bought all kinds of stuff. You name it, I probably bought it. I spent countless hours and only God knows how many thousands of dollars trying to make money online. The only thing I made sure to do is allow the materials I purchased to sit on my hard drive collecting cyber dust and continuosly fall into the sales copy pitch and buy the next best thing. I didn’t make one damn penny. It wasn’t until I lost my job that I decided to take some action and get it done.  That’s when I started scouring through my hard drive and found the two books that changed my life. Okay, this E-book is a must-read and was written  by a gentleman named Ken Evoy. Again, if you don’t know who that is, don’t worry. I’ll fill you in later. It’s also FREE and I consider it my make money online encyclopedia. It’s a long E-book. It’s very thorough and will help you to get your mind right. You need to have a certain mindset in order to be successful and this will help you get where you need to be mentally.  Netwriting Masters Course.

This e-book was written to help you understand making money online and how to go about developing multiple income streams from your knowledge, ideas, and passions, affiliate programs, advertising, Google Adsense, and much more, all in the shortest time and without spending all your hard earned cash. However, you have to do one thing to get the most from this online money making manual.    You have to read it.

The very first thing you should do is download two of my favorites E-books on the how to start a blog subject. The very first is written by Jack Humphrey himself, “The Authority Black Book.” If you don’t know who he is, don’t worry. I’ll fill you in later.

This book is FREE and it is filled with a plethora of information on becoming the authority in your niche so you can make money blogging – a whole lot of it.

Don’t just download it and let it sit on your hard drive. READ IT! Print it out and get a highlighter and mark it up. Take notes and memorize it. Sorry for the ranting and screaming but I get a bit excited when people do the ole download-and-read-it-later-never-ever-to-get-back-to-it thing. It drives me nuts because I did it for so long and that was the #1 reason it took me four years to make my first nickle online.  It was when I decided to read this book that I began to see the fruits of my labor. How to start a blog – Part 2

How do you blog? – is a question that tends to keep rising when I’m engaging in conversation. A simple question, yet there are so many different ways to interpret it. Hence there are many different answers. So, I thought it would be appropriate to take a stab at trying to clear the confusion here.

When someone asks this question, I always respond, “Do you mean how do you start a blog?” Seven times out of ten the answer to is a simple “yes”. However, some people are asking something totally different. Here’s some examples of how this question can be interpreted:

• How do you set up a blog?
• What platform do you use? i.e. wordpress, blogger
• How do you make your own blog?
• How do you get your blog noticed?
• How do you make money with your blog?
• How do you use a blog?
• How do you promote a blog?
• How do you start a blog site?
• Do you use your blog for leisure or money?

Whew!! And these are just a few different answers that I get from people.

With that said, how do I answer the question of “how do you blog?” I’m not sure. I, myself, am pretty confused about which direction to take in answering the question on this forum. I really don’t want to confuse anyone.

What I can tell you is that anyone can learn to start a blog. It’s rather simple. Whether you want to blog for fun or blog for profit, it can be learned by anyone. It’s also fun and exciting to help other people by sharing your thoughts and knowledge.

Sidenote** I shall tell no lies – there is work involved in creating a blog for profit. If you want bad enough to make money from home blogging, you can do it. Just don’t believe that you’ll set it up and forget it and the blog profits will suddenly fill up you bank account. I learned the technical stuff pretty easy. Now I’m in the process of learning to monetize and becoming an expert on blogging. Who am I learning from? Want to learn how to start a blog but now sure where or how? Blogging is a lucrative source of income for some and blogs are hands-down the easiest to set up and maintain. Imagine a life where you are compensated for writing on stuff that interests you, whenever you want, wherever you are.

The mere flexibilityof blogging makes it simple for you to just kick back, relax and go on a holiday if you feel like it.

In this article, we’re going to go over  how to start a blog of our own at no cost! Curious? Read on!

First, we need to get a blog. There are several different options – host a blog on your own domain or get a free blog. For starters, let’s discuss the free blogs. You can obtain a free blog at www.blogger.com or the newer (and more effective) www.wordpress.com. If you have a pulse, you must have heard of WordPress. WordPress is a free blog engine that is robust and boundlessly expandable.

Blogger.com is really owned by Google, so it will be discovered on Google’s search engine faster and you’ll be indexed faster. WordPress.com, however, is a comparatively newer option so I have no comparison on the speed of getting indexed by search engines. Nonetheless, WordPress is significantly more superior in the sense that it has more advanced features such as trackbacks and indisputably more customizable. With wordpress you’ll be able to change any and everything concerning your blog; giving you to opportunity to effectively make money with a blog. I mean, ultimately, that’s what it boils down to more about this later).

So, the first step to start a blog is to go to WordPress or Blogger.com. Then, acquaint yourself by putting up your first post on your blog and messing around around with the options and templates.{Yes, I’m partial to WordPress:}

**Note: Don’t spend too much time with the techie stuff. Just pick a topic that interest you and get something up.

Here are a few basic “blog-related” words to assist you along the way:

1)    Permalink – Permalink stands for permanent link, which is a URL (uniform resource locator) that leads to an individual post that you make in your blog.
2)    Trackback – When you post about someone else’s blog post elsewhere, your post will show up in their “trackback” section. This feature, however, is not available with a Blogger.com account.
3)    Pinging – Blogging appears to be paired with pinging just about every time either one is brought up nowadays. Pinging is actually the action where a certain aggregator is notified whenever your web log  or blog is updated, so that the aggregator may show the freshest post of your blog on their website. This is also a useful method to pulling in traffic, which we shall discuss later.
